Air Transat reactivated its regular operations last Friday after six months of inactivity as a result of COVID-19 and government restrictions with three scheduled flights between Montreal, Punta Cana and Vancouver.

These routes are part of the airline’s usual summer schedule, which begins in the middle of the season with 24 routes to 16 destinations in Canada, the United States and Europe.

«It is with great joy and excitement that we return to the skies after these long months of suspension,» commented Transat Airlines President and CEO Annick Guérard.

«We are delighted to finally meet our travelers and allow them to reconnect with their favorite destinations through our world-renowned travel experience. In preparation for our return, our teams have been working hard to ensure the safety of travelers and facilitate their planning – continually adjusting our Traveler Care health and safety program and our practical guide to travel requirements,» completed Annick.

With regard to domestic flights for this season, Transat has an important itinerary of destinations for its Canadian and foreign passengers, which include trips between the cities of Calgary, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Vancouver.

Holguín and Varadero in Cuba, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Paris, Port-au-Prince in Haiti, Cancun, Lisbon and Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in the United States, are other international destinations that the company operates from Montreal.

From Toronto there are direct flights to Holguín and Varadero, Punta Cana, London, Cancun, Porto, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, while from Quebec City it flies to Fort Lauderdale.

The company recently added three new Airbus A321LRs, bringing the number of aircraft of that model to ten. Another seven will be phased in until 2023.
