Air Peace becomes first to link Abuja with both Heathrow and Gatwick airports
Nigerian airline Air Peace will begin operating direct flights between Abuja and London Heathrow and Gatwick starting October 26, 2025, becoming the first Nigerian carrier to connect the capital with both major London airports.
According to a statement released by spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey, round-trip fares for the new route will start at ₦1 million. The airline noted that travelers from domestic destinations across Nigeria will be able to connect through Abuja to either Heathrow or Gatwick on a single ticket, with no need for separate bookings or baggage recheck.
"Travelers originating from any of Air Peace’s domestic destinations across Nigeria can now book through fares via Abuja to either Heathrow or Gatwick using a single ticket," said Osifo-Whiskey. She also pointed out that passengers arriving from London will have access to destinations such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Benin, Warri, Owerri, Kano, Yola, Gombe and Asaba.
The airline claims to offer "the cheapest fares ever" and generous baggage allowances. "It provides a distinct competitive advantage, enabling passengers to travel between Nigeria and the United Kingdom with greater ease, efficiency, and value," Osifo-Whiskey stated.
This move follows the earlier launch of the Lagos–London Gatwick route in early 2024.
Its network currently covers 17 destinations in West Africa and London-Gatwick Airport, with Heathrow soon to be added. The fleet includes 3 Airbus A320s, 7 Boeing 737-300s, 3 Boeing 737-500s, 2 Boeing 777-200s, 2 Boeing 777-300s, 8 Embraer ERJ-145s, 5 Embraer E195-E2s, and one Embraer E190.
Last week, it also became known that Air Peace received authorization to operate flights between Nigeria and Brazil.
