Air France increases flights to Costa Rica for the 2025/2026 winter season
Air France expands its service to Costa Rica with up to ten weekly flights from Paris, solidifying its position as the European airline with the highest capacity on the route.
Air France strengthens its connectivity with Central America by increasing flight frequency between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José during the 2025/2026 winter season. The airline will offer more than 6,400 weekly seats in both directions, surpassing any other European carrier in capacity to Costa Rica.
From December 15, 2025, to January 16, 2026, the service will increase from seven to ten weekly flights. Then, between February 9 and March 15, 2026, nine weekly flights will be operated. According to data from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, 76,685 French tourists visited Costa Rica in 2024.
Flights will be operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which can accommodate 324 passengers across three classes: 34 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy. Air France began operating in Costa Rica in 2016 and carried over 192,000 passengers to and from the country in 2024.
Additionally, the average French tourist is estimated to spend USD 122 per day during a 17-day stay in Costa Rica.

Its sister airline, KLM, operates a seasonal route between Amsterdam (AMS) and San José (SJO) five times per week using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Together, the Franco-Dutch group will offer over 9,000 weekly seats between Europe and the Costa Rican capital in both directions.
