    Starting July 3, Air Europa will increase its operations between Madrid (MAD) and Cancun (CUN) operating a total of four flights with an offer of 2,646 seats per week. The Globalia airline will be the third largest operator on this route during the summer season.

    Flight Itinerary

    • Madrid – Cancun Flight UX 63 MAD 15:15 – CUN 18:30
    • Cancun – Madrid Flight UX 64 CUN 20:30 – MAD 13:10+1

    The flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 and 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 344 and 291 seats respectively, some of these units are coming from Norse Atlantic Airways via leasing for this summer season.

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, in 2019 between Madrid (MAD) and Cancun (CUN) 332,132 passengers and 2,132.07 tons of cargo were mobilized in 933 air operations.

    For the first quarter of 2022, Spain was the main European market in Mexico, according to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) 381,126 passengers have been mobilized between both nations, representing an increase of 321.6% compared to 2021.

    In air operations, 1,574 movements were recorded, representing an increase of 211.1% compared to last year, the passenger occupancy factor was 74.9%. Air Europa obtained a 4.5% share of the market between Mexico and Spain.

    For the high summer season, Globalia’s airline will have 16,822 seats per week between Madrid (MAD) and Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and will be the third airline with the largest capacity in this segment, serving the main vacation destinations of Spanish tourists in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.

    Air Europa’s Schedule in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean

    • Cancun (CUN) four times a week.
    • Havana (HAV) daily flights.
    • Panama – Tocumen (PTY) four times a week.
    • Punta Cana (PUJ) three times a week.
    • San Pedro Sula (SAP) twice a week.
    • Santo Domingo (SDQ) daily flights.

    All flights are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
