Both routes had been suspended by the COVID-19 health crisis in March 2020, and the resumption accompanies the growing number of travelers to the northern giant. The United States and Mexico have been the largest international market worldwide and with the best recovery trend.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the offer of seats between the two countries in July 2021 is 12.8% below the levels of 2019, taking into account that the world average of seats in the international market is less than 61%.

José Zapata, Aeroméxico’s vice president of sales in Mexico, explained that this month they will offer around 2000 flights with an offer of more than 350,000 seats, 80,000 will be for Austin and Dallas / Fort Worth. Both cities are joined by the Texas cities of San Antonio and Houston.

«We are pleased that Aeromexico has the confidence to restore flights to this state, as we have been able to continue to receive visitors from Mexico to Texas on an ongoing basis thanks to this connectivity,» expressed Brad Smyth, Director of Tourism for the State of Texas.
