In an event that took place this morning at its corporate building at Jorge Newbery Airport, Aerolíneas Argentinas presented the new uniforms that will be used by ground and flight staff. This renewal comes after 13 years.

The uniform design was led by Benito Fernández, while Ricky Sarkany designed the footwear.

According to the company’s statement, the uniforms were developed under the concept «the modern world demands a modern uniform,» incorporating the color palette of Aerolíneas Argentinas on the front, with sky blue (Pantone 3005) and white taking a predominant position in the flight staff uniforms, and blue and white for the ground staff uniforms.

Also, the uniforms were developed based on three pillars: brand identity, comfort, and convenience/modernity, aspects that were addressed through a survey of the staff about the current uniform, in which 70% of the employees expressed agreement in changing it for another that offers more comfort.

For this reason, the fabrics used include spandex for greater comfort, while normalizing the use of trousers for both men and women and incorporating sneakers.

In terms of sustainability, they highlighted, the new uniform reduces the number of pieces from 9 to 6 and eliminates the braids from the suits, switching to pins for the different ranks and positions, allowing for cost reduction and less use of materials.

“This uniform reflects what we want to be and what we are: on one hand, a modern airline that adapts to social changes and new ways of flying, without losing the classic elegance that characterizes Aerolíneas Argentinas. In some way, it exactly represents this moment for the company, in which changes have been made that have allowed us to grow without losing our essence,” explained Ceriani.

Benito Fernández said, «The concept partly arises from thinking about abstract ideas and morphologies that represent today’s world through the work of an airline: modernity, comfort, and elegance are present in this uniform. It’s a dream come true and a milestone in my career to represent my country through a brand like Aerolíneas Argentinas.»

Ricky Sarkany stated, «The design prototypes emerge from an aesthetic and socio-cultural analysis that we carried out of the current moment after having gone through the pandemic.»
