Aerolineas Argentinas will add two additional Boeing 737-8s, bringing its MAX family fleet to seven aircraft in the coming months.

The two aircraft, with registration numbers LV-KEI and LV-KEJ, will join the carrier in July and August while maintaining the seating configuration of the other 737-8s in the fleet: 8 seats in Club Condor and 162 in economy.

Aerolíneas Argentinas added its first Boeing 737-8 in November 2017, when the LV-GVD arrived. Subsequently, the LV-GVE, LV-HKU, LV-HKV and LV-HKW would be incorporated.

In March 2019, following the Ethiopian ET302 accident, the Argentine aeronautical authority accompanied the measures taken by the FAA and suspended the model’s operations in the national territory. The FAA recertified the Boeing 737 MAX in December 2020, and Aerolíneas resumed operating it in March 2021.

Sources close to the company point out that with the arrival of these two 737-8s and the LV-KAO, an Airbus A330-200 ex-TAP that replaces one of the aircraft withdrawn from service, Aerolíneas recovers a total fleet of 82 aircraft, the same number existing prior to the pandemic.
