Aer Lingus Regional opens two new routes from Belfast

Emerald Airlines, exclusive operator of Aer Lingus Regional, announced two new routes from Belfast City to Cardiff and Southampton, both services will start from July 7, 2022.
The Irish airline already serves Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow, Exeter and Manchester, now with these two new operations, it strengthens its presence as Belfast City’s largest carrier.
«As we approach the peak summer months, the launch of our Cardiff and Southampton services will give those traveling from Belfast more choice when planning their vacation. When quick getaways are on everyone’s mind, we offer convenient schedules and low fares, increasing connectivity to and from Northern Ireland» said Ciarán Smith, commercial director of Emerald Airlines.
«Aer Lingus Regional’s base at Belfast City Airport has been operational for just over 3 months and we are delighted to see an expansion in both the number of routes served by the airline and the frequency of its services» said Ellie McGimpsey, aviation development manager at Belfast City Airport.
«With the addition of Cardiff and Southampton, Aer Lingus Regional will now operate routes to 8 of the 21 destinations Belfast City Airport will fly to this summer,» McGimpsey added.
Users will be able to earn Avios points on all Aer Lingus Regional operations, which will provide continuity and benefits to the current services offered by both Aer Lingus and British Airways at Belfast City. Tickets can be booked through AerLingus.com and britishairways.com.
Aer Lingus’ regional flights will be operated by ATR72-600s, the latest generation of turboprop aircraft that consume low fuel and emit up to 40% less CO₂ on these short regional flights.

- Belfast City – Southampton Departure time: 15:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
- Southampton – Belfast City Departure time: 17:10 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
- Belfast City – Southampton Departure time: 09:55 Saturday.
- Southampton – Belfast City Departure time: 12:05 Saturday.
