#TBT: KLM flights to South America in 1988
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines had, in 1988, flights to Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile in the South American sector. Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile were part of the schedule, with Brazil, Argentina and Chile as the leading markets.

Operations were performed in Boeing 747-300(M) aircraft, which were configured with 2 classes (First and Economy).

At present, considering the countries mentioned above, everything remains the same, except for Uruguay, a market that is not in KLM’s schedule. Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile are operated by the airline, with the following schedules:
- Buenos Aires (EZE): 7 weekly flights
- Rio de Janeiro (GIG): 6 weekly flights
- Sao Paulo (GRU): 7 weekly flights
- Santiago de Chile (SCL), via EZE: 7 weekly flights
