Operations between Buenos Aires and Montevideo will be carried out every Tuesday and Friday in Embraer 190s, configured with 96 seats. Punta del Este will also have flights to Argentina, starting on September 16.

This will mark the return of operations in an important market in the region. Prior to the pandemic, there were between 3 and 6 daily flights between Argentina and Uruguay, with Aerolineas Argentinas and Amaszonas Uruguay.

As a consequence of the cease of operations of the Uruguayan airline at the end of last year, Aerolíneas Argentinas will be, for the time being, the only company operating between both countries.

«Re-establishing air connectivity with Uruguay is very important for both the corporate and vacation segments. There is great expectation on both sides of the Rio de Plata for the summer season,» said Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas.
