World2fly Expands Indian Ocean Presence with New Nonstop Route to Mauritius
World2fly has strengthened its presence in the Indian Ocean with the launch of a new nonstop route between Madrid (MAD) and Mauritius (MRU), operated once a week.
With this addition, the airline enters direct competition with Iberojet, which also offers a weekly frequency on the same route.
The inaugural flight W2 5607, operated with an Airbus A330 registered EC-OHV, departed from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport at 21:13 on Monday, June 24, and landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at 10:42 the following day, after a flight duration of eleven hours and 28 minutes.
The new connection departs every Tuesday from Madrid at 20:35, arriving in Mauritius at 10:10 the next day. On the return leg, flight W2 5608 takes off from the island at 12:10, landing in Madrid at 22:05 (local times). The service is operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, offering 388 seats. Fares start at €389.
With this new route, World2fly consolidates its offering from Madrid, where it already operates year-round flights to Cali (Colombia), Havana (Cuba), Cancún (Mexico), Zanzibar (Tanzania), Punta Cana, and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), as well as seasonal services to La Romana (Dominican Republic).
