    Virgin Atlantic has announced a brand new destination in the United States, and for the first time will land in Texas with flights to Austin (AUS) from London Heathrow starting May 25, 2022, with four weekly frequencies on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

    During the summer, Austin (AUS) will be served by four European carriers, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow (LHR), Lufthansa from Frankfurt (FRA) and KLM which begins operations from Amsterdam (AMS) on March 27. Bergstrom Airport (AUS) will have a greater transatlantic flight offer than before the pandemic.

    Data obtained by Aviacionline through the UK Civil Authority Aviation (CAA), indicates that in 2019 London was the top long-haul destination from Austin (AUS) where 251,089 passengers moved through Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW).

    For the northern summer season, Virgin Atlantic will offer 130 weekly flights to the United States on 11 destinations, including:

    New York (JKF) five daily flights on Airbus A350-1000/A330-300 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

    • Boston (BOS) one daily flight on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • Miami (MIA) one daily flight on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • Orlando (MCO) two daily flights on Airbus A350-1000 and A330-300.
    • Washington Dulles (IAD) one daily flight on Airbus A330-300.
    • Atlanta (ATL) one daily flight on Airbus A350-1000.
    • Las Vegas (LAS) one daily flight on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • San Francisco (SFO) has two daily flights on Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • Los Angeles (LAX) three daily flights on Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • Seattle (SEA) one daily flight on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
