United Airlines announced a significant increase in demand to Las Vegas (LAS) due to the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2022 event, with a significant increase to the main city in the state of Nevada. The airline will add 14 new point-to-point flights to Las Vegas (LAS) from San Jose, California (SJC), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Boston (BOS), and Orlando (MCO), and will also add 30 flights from its hubs in San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR) and Washington Dulles (IAD).

This represents a 37% increase over the usual January schedule, both of which show a positive outlook for the recovery of business and conference travel over the course of 2022.

«The return of conferences and face-to-face events is a very positive sign in the pandemic recovery, and United is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this increased demand,» said Ankit Gupta, Senior Vice President, Domestic Planning and United Express.

«We are adding about 80% of the capacity we did for CES in 2020, which shows that business travel is booming and our customers are eager to meet with clients and colleagues» added Gupta.

Between October 27 and October 9, the company’s website saw a 70% increase in searches to Las Vegas (LAS) during CES 2022. United recently surveyed its business customers and found that nearly 20% expect meeting and conference travel to exceed pre-pandemic levels next year.
