    Turkish signs codeshare agreements with Icelandair and Vietnam Airlines

    At the annual general meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Istanbul, on Tuesday, 6 June, Turkish Airlines signed new codeshare agreements with Icelandair and Vietnam Airlines.

    On the same day, the Turkish carrier also formalised such a partnership with ITA Airways.

    New codeshare agreement between Turkish Airlines and Icelandair

    Turkish Airlines and Icelandic carrier Icelandair have signed a new codeshare agreement with the aim of offering more air connections and access to new destinations to customers of both companies.

    Icelandair passengers travelling from North America to Iceland will have new alternatives to continue their journey to Istanbul, from where Turkish Airlines offers a large network of international routes. Moreover, the Turkish company’s customers will have more transport options to Iceland and Canada.

    «We look forward to seeing you on board, and to exploring the new horizons that this partnership brings», Icelandair said in a press release.

    New codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines

    The Turkish carrier also finalised a new codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines.

    Under the partnership, Turkish Airlines will market flights operated by the Vietnamese carrier, while this will market flights between Istanbul and Vietnam.

    «Both flag carriers enhanced their solid collaboration via signing this codeshare agreement» commented Bilal EKŞİ, CEO of Turkish Airlines. «As a result, more guests will be able to visit these two unique and beautiful countries, Türkiye and Vietnam», he stressed.

    «The codeshare agreement between two airlines will bring more options and attractive benefits to passengers, as well as contribute greatly to route network expansion and service diversification of Vietnam Airlines and Turkish Airlines», said Lê Hồng Hà, CEO of Vietnam Airlines. «The cooperation will promote economic, cultural and tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Turkey, as more passengers will be able to visit the two countries conveniently», he concluded.
