Turkish Airlines kicked off November with an increase in its Latin American operations, adding flights to Bogota (BOG) in Colombia, Panama City/Tocumen (PTY), and Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE) in Argentina.

The positive market response made it possible to increase the number of seats on its triangular flights to Panama and Bogota from Istanbul from 5 to 7 weekly flights. In addition, two of the seven frequencies will be operated with Boeing 777-300ERs instead of Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The new offer exceeds pre-pandemic levels, with 4,396 seats per week, which translates to an increase of 83.2% over the same month of 2019.

Between January and September 2021 it mobilized 15,974 passengers from Colombia and 28,786 from Panama.

President and CEO of Tocumen International Airport, Raffoul Arab, said: «We celebrate this exciting news and congratulate Turkish Airlines for continuing to consolidate its presence in Panama, contributing to the strategic positioning of Tocumen International Airport and its extensive network of destinations in the Americas».

Meanwhile, in the context of the reopening of borders and the normalization of flights in Argentina, the airline is increasing its operations between Istanbul and Buenos Aires (with a stopover in Sao Paulo, Brazil) from two to three flights a week. Operations will be carried out on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 1,974 seats per week.
