The three-weekly service to Melbourne will contribute to Tourism and Trade volumes between Turkey and Australia by mobilizing thousands of visitors on the Istanbul – Melbourne route each year. In addition, Turkish Airlines will be the only European airline offering flights to Melbourne.

«We have an important global value that distinguishes us from our competitors, as we are the airline that flies to the most countries in the world. Maintaining this valuable mission is a very strong motivation that drives us to work harder, with more dedication and enthusiasm,» said Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines.

Flight schedule between Istanbul and Melbourne starting March 15, 2024

    • Flight TK 168: Istanbul 17:00 – 08:45+1 Singapore 10:15+1 – Melbourne 19:40+1 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 300 seats in two classes (30 Business Class/270 Economy). The airline will continue to operate two flights to Changi Airport and will be an option to fly between Singapore and Melbourne in addition to Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Emirates, Scoop and Jetstar.

With the support of the Victorian Government and Melbourne Airport, the new service will connect Turkish to Victoria, one of Australia’s largest commercial centers and one of the fastest growing states, where the largest Turkish community in Australia is established.

Turkish’s new connection will also increase Melbourne’s access to markets in Europe, the Middle East, the Balkans and Africa via Istanbul, contributing to tourism, international education and trade potential.

In the coming years, Turkish Airlines intends to offer non-stop flights to Melbourne and other Australian cities with the acquisition of new state-of-the-art aircraft capable of non-stop service between Istanbul and Australia.
