Transavia launches new Seville–Rotterdam route and expands flights to Paris from Spain
Low-cost airline Transavia, part of the Air France-KLM group, will ramp up its operations in Spain for the winter 2025 season with new routes and increased flight frequencies to France and the Netherlands, aligning with its expansion strategy in the Spanish market.
Among the highlights is the launch of a new direct route between Seville and Rotterdam, which will begin operating on October 28 with three weekly flights—Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays—and fares starting at 59 euros, according to the airline. This new connection reinforces Transavia’s commitment to the Andalusian capital, where it will also add five more weekly flights to Paris.
The growth in service is particularly noticeable on routes to Paris from major Spanish cities. Madrid will see six additional weekly flights compared to last winter, solidifying its role as a key hub in Transavia’s network. Barcelona will add four more flights per week to the French capital. Altogether, the three largest cities will account for 15 new weekly frequencies to Paris.
Other destinations such as Valencia, Tenerife, and Alicante will also benefit from increased flight frequencies to Paris. Alicante, in particular, will gain two additional weekly flights, while Valencia and Tenerife will each receive one more per week. The Seville–Lyon connection will also be strengthened with one extra weekly flight.
This expansion is part of the airline’s strategic modernization plan, which includes fleet renewal, destination growth, and the implementation of new technological tools. As part of this initiative, Transavia has announced the creation of 20 new tech roles in France in 2025, targeting professionals such as cybersecurity engineers and systems architects.
The company has also introduced a new operational management system, aimed at improving coordination between crew and ground staff, optimizing aircraft use, and reducing environmental impact.
“This boost in our winter schedule reflects our strong commitment to the Spanish market, one of the key pillars of our development in Europe,” said Nicolas Hénin, Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing at Transavia France. “We aim to continue growing steadily, adapting to the needs of Spanish travelers and offering them a service with excellent value for money,” he added.
According to the airline, the plan responds to growing demand for both leisure and business travel, positioning Transavia as a major low-cost player between Spain, France, and the Netherlands.
