Thai Airways set to strengthen its fleet with two Airbus A330-300s leased from CDB Aviation

Thai Airways to Incorporate Two Wide-Body Airbus A330-300 Aircraft, leased from CDB Aviation. This acquisition aims to strengthen the operations of the Thai state-owned airline within Asia.
The airline successfully navigated a significant economic crisis in 2022 and, capitalizing on the high demand for travel in the Asian continent, has decided to expand its fleet with the addition of Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
The CEO of CDB Aviation, Jie Chen, stated: «We are delighted to welcome Thai Airways to our growing customer base in the Asia-Pacific region. The expansion of the wide-body aircraft fleet will bolster the airline’s position in its key Asian markets, providing the additional capacity needed to meet the high season demand and the increasing travel demand in many regions.»
Currently, Thai Airways operates a fleet of three Airbus A330-300 aircraft, primarily serving the Asian market. These aircraft connect major cities on the continent, such as Tokyo, Singapore, and Ho Chi Minh, to Bangkok. The delivery of the new aircraft is scheduled for September and October 2024.
«We continue to observe the rising demand from airlines amid a tight supply of new and used aircraft, driven mainly by the need to accommodate the growing volume of passengers. Our commercial team remains focused on understanding and meeting the diverse needs of our customers, assisting them in addressing both immediate and longer-term fleet challenges that require solutions,» Chen added.
