SWISS will offer free internet chat on all long-haul flights
SWISS International Air Lines will offer its customers free internet chat service such as WhatsApp on all long-haul flights as of August 2, 2023. The new service will be available in First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy, throughout the entire flight with no data limit.
Customers also have the option to use other internet features such as browsing, email or social networking through two additional packages. The new service will provide passengers in all classes to send and receive text messages and images via their smartphone, laptop or tablet throughout the flight. The facility will have access to all popular messaging services such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Telegram.
SWISS customers can opt for the «Wi – Fi 4 Hours» data package which offers four hours of access for CHF 25 , or the CHF 35 «Wi – Fi Premium» which provides access for the entire flight. First Class customers and HON Circle members enjoy unlimited Internet access for the entire flight.
«With our new free unlimited chat service in all our travel classes, our passengers will be able to stay in touch with family, friends and business associates throughout the flight. Our new attractive navigation, email and social networking packages also offer unlimited data volumes. So our customers now have even more options to stay in unlimited contact with the world while on board our long-haul flights,» said Tamur Goudarzi Pour, SWISS Chief Commercial Officer, Tamur Goudarzi Pour.
Unlimited data volumes
All new services and add-on packages provide unlimited data volumes, enabling the consumption of data-intensive content. Only video streaming services will be disabled to ensure sufficient bandwidth for as many passengers as possible at the same time.
In addition, all passengers will be able to read the digital SWISS Magazine on their device at any time, even without activated internet access.
