Summer 2024: Munich Airport to have 107 weekly flights to Asia
In the face of growing travel demand, Munich Airport will record the highest number of services to East and South Asia on the schedule for the 2024 summer season: starting on March 31, a total of nine airlines have scheduled 107 weekly flights to 14 destinations in ten countries. Prior to the pandemic, the 2019 summer schedule had 101 weekly flights.
Destinations currently served from Munich to East and South Asia include Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Seoul, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Malé, Taipei, Bangkok and Singapore. Airlines serving the region include Lufthansa, Air China, All Nippon Airways, BeOnd, EVA Airways, Singapore Airlines, Somon Air, Thai Airways and Uzbekistan Airways.
To meet travel demand, Lufthansa will seasonally operate the Airbus A380 on the route to Delhi from April 1 and double its flights to Bangalore. Service to Beijing will increase from three flights a week to a daily connection from April, while Osaka will have five flights a week from April and then daily operations from May. Also, service to Hong Kong will resume from March 31.
All Nippon Airways will increase its service to Munich from four to seven weekly flights starting July 2. In addition, Air China will operate from Shanghai with three weekly flights on Airbus A350s.
