SKY Airline to Resume Flights to Tacna, Puerto Maldonado, and More in 2025

SKY Airline announced the resumption of three routes in Peru during 2025, marking the addition of two more destinations to its domestic network. With these new connections, SKY will operate in fourteen Peruvian cities.
SKY will resume flights to Tacna (TCQ) and Puerto Maldonado (PEM), after suspending them in March 2022 and December 2023, respectively. It will also reinstate the connection between Cusco (CUZ) and Arequipa (AQP).
«Three new routes that aim to boost connectivity in Peru, focusing on interregional flights that will benefit not only Peruvians but also international tourists seeking more efficient options to explore this wonderful country without the need to stop over in the capital,» the airline stated through its social media.
The low-cost carrier thus breaks LATAM’s monopoly on these three routes, offering the following schedule:
- Cusco – Arequipa, with daily flights, starting March 10, 2025. Competes with LATAM (12 weekly flights).
- Cusco – Puerto Maldonado, with daily flights and connections to Lima, starting March 10, 2025. Competes with LATAM (7 weekly flights).
- Lima – Tacna, with daily flights, starting April 1, 2025. Competes with LATAM (23 weekly flights).
The airline projects to transport 8,000 travelers monthly to enhance connectivity in the southern region of the South American country.
SKY Airline Peru today
SKY Airline will be present at fourteen airports in Peru, and from Lima (LIM) it operates to seven international destinations. According to the Ministry of Transport of Peru (MTC), the low-cost carrier is the second most important airline in the country, with a 16.8% market share, having transported 1,930,241 passengers between January and September 2024.
SKY connects Lima with Arequipa (AQP), Ayacucho (AYP), Cusco (CUZ), Iquitos (IQT), Jauja (JAU), Juliaca (JUL), Piura (PIU), Pucallpa (PCL), Tarapoto (TPP), Tumbes (TBP), and Trujillo (TRU), in addition to the new destinations planned for 2025.
Internationally, the company connects Lima with Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Cancún (CUN), Miami (MIA), Montevideo (MVD), Punta Cana (PUJ), Santiago (SCL), and São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU). This has accounted for 746,387 passengers between January and September.
