Singapore Airlines once again crosses the Atlantic in its Airbus A380s

After a great deal of uncertainty on the return of the Airbus A380 in a post-pandemic world, Singapore Airlines continues to reinstate its superjumbos for its main routes in response to increased passenger demand.

The company will resume Airbus A380 operation on one of its flagship 5th freedom routes, Singapore (SIN) – Frankfurt (FRA) – New York (JFK) with daily flights from March 27, replacing the current Boeing 777-300ER operation.

• Frankfurt – New York Flight SQ26 FRA 08:35 – JFK 11:00
• New York – Frankfurt Flight SQ25 JFK 20:15 – FRA 09:50+1
• Frankfurt – Singapore Flight SQ25 FRA 11:40 – SIN 06:50+1

Singapore Airlines will use A380s with refurbished cabins configured as follows: 6 First Class Suites, 82 Business Class seats, 44 in Premium Economy, and 343 in Economy Class.

As part of its restructuring, the airline will reduce its A380 fleet from 19 to 12 aircraft. Singapore Airlines currently operates superjumbos to London Heathrow (LHR) and Sydney (SYD) and expects to restart operations to the following destinations: Shanghai (PVG), Beijing – Capital (PEK), Delhi (DEL), and Mumbai (BOM).

More flights to New York

For the northern summer season, Singapore Airlines will offer three daily flights to New York including service via Frankfurt (FRA) and two non-stop services from Singapore (SIN) to John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and Newark (EWR) operated on 161-seat Airbus A350-900ULRs in two classes configured with 67 seats in Business Class and 94 in Premium Economy, which will be the longest non-stop flights worldwide.
