The Russian Defense Ministry is providing humanitarian aid to the Caribbean country to combat Covid-19 due to the crisis that the communist-regime nation is experiencing and for this it sent two freighters that are the second largest models in the world in terms of loading capacity.

One of the aircraft departed from the Shkalovski Airport, Russia, on July 24 and arrived two days later at dawn at the José Marti International Airport (HAV), Havana, Cuba. It is an Antonov An-124-100 Rusian registration RA-82038 belonging to the Air Force of the Russian Federation.

The Antonov 124 has a wingspan of 88.4 meters and a height of 18.1 meters, and its MTW is 640 tons.

We can observe below through our partner site Aeroin and from the official Twitter of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the exact moment in which the first of the two flights of the Russian Air Force stepped on Cuban land to download humanitarian aid:

The order for humanitarian aid was delivered by Vladimir Putin, Russian president, after the United States government applied several sanctions to Cuba for the abuses committed against protesters protesting against the regime.

Last Friday, more than 7,000 positive cases of Covid-19 were registered in Cuba, which meant a new record of infections in a country where the pandemic does not stop.
