According to TASS news agency, the shootdowns were reported Monday by Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov.

«Yesterday, fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Force and battlefield air defense systems shot down three more Su-27 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near Poltava, one Su-25 aircraft near Gostomel and two Mi-24 helicopters in the Makarov area and eight unmanned aerial vehicles, including Bayraktar TB2 drones,» the spokesman said.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry assured that its troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to surgically striking and disabling Ukrainian military infrastructure.

Also, according to the same sources, Russian bombers and attack aircraft destroyed three Ukrainian Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile systems and two radar stations.

One of those Buk-M1 surface-to-air systems could have been, days ago, responsible for the downing of a Russian Air Force (VVS) Su-34.

No film or photographic evidence has yet surfaced on social networks to validate the Russian Defense Ministry’s claims about these latest shoot-downs.
