Developed by RT-Project Technologies, a subsidiary of Rostec, in collaboration with Sirena-Travel, Leonardo will be implemented with the Venezuelan airline Conviasa, which already utilizes the Russian Passenger Service System (PSS).

Leonardo is a fully Russian-developed platform that complies with International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards and automates airline operational processes. Venezuela became the first country in the region to adopt this technology after signing a contract with Conviasa in April 2023.

    Expansion in Latin America

Alexander Kuzhekin, Director of Development at RT-Project Technologies, announced the establishment of a project office to support Leonardo’s implementation across Latin America. As part of this initiative, an omnichannel Spanish-language support center was launched in June 2024, providing assistance to regional airlines and agents.

"The region has more than 400 million inhabitants—potential users of the system—whom we aim to serve," Kuzhekin stated.

As the first operator of the system in Latin America, Conviasa has expanded its use on international routes. The airline currently employs the Astra DCS system for passenger and baggage management on flights between Caracas-Moscow and Caracas-Havana, a technology also developed with RT-Project Technologies.

    Global Reach and Future Developments

In Russia, Leonardo is used by over 60 airlines, and its international expansion includes markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The platform continues to evolve with new features, such as:

    • Cross-airline ticket payments using frequent flyer miles
    • Advance ticket purchases before check-in
    • Seat selection at all stages of the passenger service process

With these advancements, Leonardo aims to enhance airline efficiency and offer a seamless booking experience to travelers worldwide.
