Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport is now operating normally

According to information provided by The Jewish Chronicle, authorities have halted all departing flights as a precautionary measure. On the other hand, according to flight tracking data, at least one British Airways aircraft bound for Tel Aviv proceeded to its alternative airport in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The local airport authority confirmed that all activity at Ben Gurion International Airport has returned to normal, although the threat to Israel remains.

In a new escalation of aggression between the Palestinian territory and the Jewish state, the Israeli Defence Forces have already recorded some 270 rocket launches into their territory. More than two hundred have entered the country’s airspace, while 62 were intercepted by the mobile air defence system Iron Dome. Three others fell in populated areas. Air-raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and its metropolitan area, home to about four million people.

Hours earlier, Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip had left at least thirteen people dead, according to a CNN report.
