Lufthansa Technik to Provide Component Support for Air Europa's Entire Boeing 737 Fleet
Air Europa and Lufthansa Technik sign a long-term agreement for component support of the Boeing 737 fleet, including future 737 MAX aircraft.
Air Europa selects Lufthansa Technik as the exclusive provider for component support for its entire Boeing 737 fleet through a new long-term agreement. According to a statement from the German company, this contract extends the existing service for the 737 NG fleet and expands coverage to include the 737 MAX aircraft currently in service and those to be incorporated in the future.
The agreement falls under the Total Component Support (TCS) program, a comprehensive service that covers the maintenance, repair, and logistics of aircraft components. Such programs ensure airlines have access to spare parts and reduce the complexity of inventory management, thereby optimizing operational reliability.
Air Europa's fleet covered by this contract currently consists of 28 Boeing 737 aircraft. The agreement not only covers these planes but is also prepared for the airline's growth, as it includes the 18 737 MAX units the company has on order. The airline expects these new aircraft to begin entering service by mid-2027, consolidating the modernization of its short- and medium-haul fleet.
Lufthansa Technik, one of the leading global providers of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services, will be responsible for ensuring that Air Europa's Boeing 737 operations run with maximum efficiency.
Pedro Macías Domínguez, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Air Europa, stated that the decision to continue working with Lufthansa Technik "is based on their strong and reliable performance, quality, and engineering expertise."
Meanwhile, Daniel Hepworth, Senior Director of Corporate Sales for Europe at Lufthansa Technik, commented that when their customers choose to expand their contracts, "it’s a testament to our service quality and partnership approach." The collaboration between the two companies aims to enhance Air Europa's growth and operational stability.
