Lufthansa Cargo will have an international route schedule with 83 weekly connections for the 2023/2024 winter season. This schedule is due to increased frequencies to destinations with high demand, as well as the introduction of new destinations to the network. In addition, the carrier’s Boeing 777F fleet will rise to 17 aircraft, with the addition of a new freighter in service by the end of the year.

To Tel Aviv and Cairo, there will be three weekly B777 freighter services starting in October. In Asia, frequency to Hong Kong will increase from six to seven weekly flights with a stopover in Mumbai.

With the combined connection from Frankfurt via Riyadh to Taipei, Lufthansa Cargo adds two new cargo destinations to its current flight schedule in November with a twice-weekly operation. Taipei will become part of the airline’s global route network for the first time, while Riyadh resumes the service last operated in 2020.

In Latin America, service to Mexico City will increase from six to a total of seven weekly rotations for the winter schedule. In July, all cargo flights were moved to Felipe Angeles International Airport. The North American network will have eight destinations to the United States and Canada, while the South American schedule will have six destinations.

Lufthansa Cargo will also strengthen its operations in the short- and medium-haul segment with the introduction of a fourth Airbus A321 freighter in September, which will complement the airline’s global offering.

«The air cargo market is and remains volatile, but Asia and Mexico continue to be attractive and economically strong regions for us. The additional capacity of our 17th Boeing 777F in our long-haul fleet offers opportunities to specifically tailor the flight offering to the needs of our customers in these markets,» said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.

The 2023-2024 winter schedule will be available for bookings from October 8 and enters October 29. In addition to dedicated flights on freighter aircraft, Lufthansa Cargo also markets cargo capacity in the hold of passenger aircraft on more than 6,000 weekly flights operated by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels, Discover and SunExpress.
