Leadership Shift at Iberia: Víctor Moneo Takes Over Global Sales
Iberia has appointed Víctor Moneo as its new Global Sales Director, tasking him with leading the execution of the airline's commercial strategy across all the markets in which it operates. The company is focused on consolidating its leadership in Spain, strengthening its position as the leading carrier between Latin America and Europe, expanding its U.S. presence, and growing in emerging markets across other continents.
Moneo succeeds Beatriz Guillén, who now joins Iberia’s Executive Committee as Director of Customer Experience. In his new role, Moneo will also oversee Strategic Partnerships, Traffic Rights, and Aeropolitical Affairs.
According to the airline, a 4% increase in capacity to Latin America is expected in 2025, with 5.5 million seats projected to connect the region with Europe. Iberia has also announced new routes to Fortaleza and Recife in Brazil, set to launch in late 2025 and early 2026. Additionally, countries like Peru, Chile, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic will see enhanced connectivity with Europe.

In the U.S., the strategy includes the launch of a new Madrid–Orlando route, along with strengthened operations in Boston and Washington, where the A321XLR aircraft is already in service.
“It's an honor for me to lead Iberia’s Global Sales team, especially at a time when our company continues to grow and strengthen its position in various markets,” said Moneo.
“Undoubtedly, one of the main challenges will be to continue consolidating our leadership in Latin America–Europe connectivity, where we are deploying increased capacity. At the same time, we are expanding our presence in key markets such as the U.S. and new routes to Asia, while also maintaining a strong focus on our home market in Spain, where we remain the leading carrier,” he added.
Moneo brings extensive experience within Iberia, having previously served as Director of Alliances and Strategic Agreements. His prior roles include Commercial Director for Latin America, Sales Director for Spain at Iberia and British Airways, and Head of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators. He holds a degree in Business Administration and completed executive training in Sales Management and Commercial Strategy at ESADE and ESIC.
