LATAM Boosts Connections to Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín from Lima

LATAM will increase its flights next year between Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) and three airports in Colombia: Bogotá (BOG), Cartagena (CTG), and Medellín/Rionegro (MDE).

The new frequencies continue to widen the gap compared to pre-pandemic levels, reaching a 72% ASK offer, according to Cirium. The only absence is Cali (CLO), which has not yet been reinstated by LATAM.

The airline will increase flights to Bogotá from 3 to 4 daily, to Medellín from 7 to 11 flights per week, and to Cartagena, the increase is from 9 to 12 weekly flights. The services will be operated by Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, configured with 138 and 174 seats respectively. With this, LATAM will offer 8,664 seats per week.

LATAM’s new frequency schedule

• From Lima (LIM):
  • Bogotá, from 21 to 28 flights per week with A320ceo, competing with Avianca (28 flights per week) and Wingo (4 per week).
  • Cartagena, from 9 to 12 flights per week with A319/A320ceo, competing with jetSMART (4 per week).
  • Medellín, from 7 to 9 per week and in June to 11 per week, competing with Avianca (3 per week) seasonally and jetSMART (6 per week).

Despite the cessation of VIVA’s operations, Avianca and LATAM quickly filled the gap, with jetSMART joining as well, maintaining a 19% ASK increase.
