Korean Air continues to restore its European network

Korean Air resumes operations to Turkey, Czech Republic and Switzerland after three years, as travel demand continues to grow and the airline continues to restore its European network. For the summer season, the airline will have eight daily flights between South Korea and Europe via 13 destinations.

Czech Republic

Starting March 27, the South Korean carrier resumes operations to the Czech capital with three flights per week operated by Boeing 777-300ERs and will offer 1,746 seats per week. Korean Air will be the only airline operator on this route, prior to the pandemic Czech Airlines operated on this segment, the latter suspended its long-haul operations.

• Seoul – Prague Flight KE 969 ICN 12:45 – PRG 16:55 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
• Prague – Seoul Flight KE 970 PRG 18:50 – ICN 11:55+1 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

According to data compiled through AirPortal aviation statistics, 95,681 passengers and 5,190 tons of cargo were moved in 2019 between Seoul and Prague in 380 operations.

Switzerland

Korean Air resumes services to Switzerland’s main financial hub starting March 28 with three weekly flights operated on Boeing 777-300ERs and will have a weekly seat offering of 1,749 seats. The airline is the only carrier to offer non-stop flights between South Korea and Switzerland.

• Seoul – Zurich Flight KE 917 ICN 12:20 – ZRH 17:30 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
• Zurich – Seoul Flight KE 918 ZRH 19:30 – ICN 13:35+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

In 2019, 23,436 passengers and 1,721 tons of cargo were moved between Seoul and Zurich in 162 operations.

Turkey

Starting April 24, the carrier returns to Istanbul with three weekly flights operated on Airbus A330-200s and will have a weekly seat offering of 1,308 seats. Korean Air will compete in this market with Turkish Airlines and Asiana Airlines.

• Seoul – Istanbul Flight KE 955 ICN 13:40 – IST 19:40 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
• Istanbul – Seoul Flight KE 956 IST 21:20 – ICN 13:25+1 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

In 2019, 273,381 passengers and 16,419 tons of cargo were moved between Seoul and Zurich in 1,072 operations.

Expansion in Europe

For the summer season, Korean Air will have 30,630 seats per week on offer between South Korea and Europe, making it the leading airline in this market. The company’s European network offers non-stop services to Paris (CDG), London – Heathrow (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Rome (FCO), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), Barcelona (BCN), Amsterdam (AMS), Vienna (VIE), Budapest (BUD) and soon Prague (PRG), Zurich (ZRH), Istanbul (IST) and Madrid (MAD).
