KLM resumes non-stop flights to Mainland China and Hong Kong

For this 2023 summer season, KLM resumes its non-stop operations to Mainland China and Hong Kong. These services were being carried out via Seoul – Incheon (ICN) and Bangkok (BKK) respectively.
This increase is due to the easing of sanitary restrictions by the Chinese authorities, the Dutch carrier continues to rebuild its network in the Asia-Pacific region as demand increases. Recently, its sister airline Air France announced increases in its operations to Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Starting March 26, KLM will begin six non-stop flights to Beijing – Capital (PEK) and Shanghai – Pudong (PVG) operated from Amsterdam (AMS), with all services increasing to daily flights in May. The Chinese market is important for the KLM network due to the high demand for business passengers.

Starting from May
Hong Kong (HKG)
The route will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
- Amsterdam – Hong Kong Flight KL 887 AMS 16:55 – HKG 10:30+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Hong Kong – Amsterdam Flight KL 888 HKG 12:20 – AMS 19:40 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Beijing – Capital (PEK)
The service will be operated by Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
- Amsterdam – Beijing Flight KL 897 AMS 16:10 – PEK 08:55+1 daily flights.
- Beijing – Amsterdam Flight KL 898 PEK 10:55 – AMS 17:25 daily flights.
Shanghai – Pudong (PVG)
This non-stop connection will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER/-200ER aircraft.
- Amsterdam – Shanghai Flight KL 895 AMS 15:30 – PVG 09:25+1 daily flights.
- Shanghai – Amsterdam Flight KL 896 PVG 11:15 – AMS 18:55 daily flights.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Schiphol Airport (AMS) statistics, 1,750,629 passengers were moved in 2019 between the Netherlands with Mainland China and Hong Kong was the second largest intercontinental market, only behind the United States. In addition, the most important cargo route from Amsterdam (AMS) was to Shanghai – Pudong (PVG) where they moved 180,030 tons of goods and mail.
