JetBlue and Aer Lingus expand their codeshare partnership

Jetblue expands its codeshare agreement with Aer Lingus to offer additional travel options between the U.S. and Europe. Flights are now available for booking.

Jetblue will now place its «B6» code on four Aer Lingus routes to the U.S. from its East Coast focus cities:

• New York (JFK)
• Dublin (DUB).
• Shannon (SNN).
• Boston (BOS)
• Dublin (DUB).
• Shannon (SNN).

JetBlue intends to add its code to selected Aer Lingus routes beyond Ireland in the near future.

«Connecting our customers to more destinations where they want to fly guarantees JetBlue will increase its relevance in the Northeast and, by further expanding our partnership with Aer Lingus, we are bringing new options to travelers flying between the U.S. and Ireland,» said Joanna Geraghty, President, and COO of JetBlue.

JetBlue and Aer Lingus customers who purchase a codeshare flight will have the benefits of one-stop check-in, baggage transfer, and the convenience of clearing customs before departing Ireland. The partnership between airlines began in 2008 and since 2013 they commenced a unilateral codeshare agreement.

Aer Lingus’ «EI» code is now available on more than 42 JetBlue routes and offers the best connections from JetBlue’s main focus cities of New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS).

Aer Lingus will operate 16 transatlantic routes from Dublin (DUB), Shannon (SNN), Manchester (MAN) to North America and the Caribbean by summer 2022. On the other hand, JetBlue started its first flights to Europe to London operating from New York (JFK) and soon to Boston (BOS) to the main airports of the British capital, Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW).
