Iberojet renews exclusive agreement with Palmerola Airport in Honduras
Iberojet, part of the Ávoris Corporación Empresarial group, has renewed its exclusive agreement with Palmerola International Airport in Honduras, extending the partnership for an additional three years. The signing took place during an official ceremony at the Spanish Residence in Tegucigalpa, attended by diplomatic, government, and company representatives.
Since launching operations in December 2022, Iberojet has maintained a direct connection between Madrid and Palmerola, later adding an additional frequency from Barcelona. The airline currently operates three weekly flights between Spain and Honduras, all serviced by Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The company expects to surpass 131,000 passengers transported by 2025.
According to the airline, the service has already carried more than 333,500 passengers, positioning Iberojet as a key player in air connectivity between Europe and Central America.
At the event, Mario Domínguez Vázquez, Iberojet’s Commercial Director for Scheduled Flights, stated: "Renewing this agreement is a reaffirmation of our trust in Honduras’ future. Since day one, the market response has been exceptional, and the collaboration with Palmerola Airport has been exemplary."
The company also highlighted that the alliance has enabled the expansion of logistical services at the airport, including the addition of a cargo terminal that benefits key export sectors such as textiles and agri-food.
According to Iberojet, this renewed agreement marks the beginning of a new phase of consolidation and innovation, aligning with the airline’s internationalization strategy and its goal to strengthen its presence along the Europe–Central America corridor.
