    Iberia continues to strengthen its operations in Latin America by increasing its services between Madrid and Caracas from three to five weekly flights starting in September. For this boreal winter season, the company will be the leading airline operator in this segment in terms of seats per offered seat kilometer (ASK) according to Cirium.

    The Spanish airline will offer 2,880 seats per week to and from Venezuela, an increase of more than 60% in seat capacity compared to the current schedule. Iberia currently competes in this segment with Air Europa and Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, 105,225 passengers and 757.7 tons of cargo were mobilized in the period January – May 2023 between Madrid and Caracas in 443 operations. This represents an increase of almost 250% and more than 120% in passenger and cargo traffic respectively compared to last year’s levels.

    Iberia’s flight schedule to Venezuela

    From September 2 to October 28, 2023.

    • Madrid – Caracas Flight IB 6673 MAD 11:55 – CCS 15:10 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
    • Caracas – Madrid Flight IB 6674 CCS 17:05 – MAD 07:05+1 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

    From October 29, 2023 to March 24, 2024.

    • Madrid – Caracas Flight IB 6673 MAD 11:55 – CCS 16:20 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
    • Caracas – Madrid Flight IB 6674 CCS 18:15 – MAD 07:55+1 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

    The route will be operated on Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 288 passengers in two classes (19 Business Class/269 Economy) and promotional fares are available from 714 euros round trip.

    Iberia’s growth in Latin America

    Iberia is the leading airline in the Europe – Latin America market where it flies to 18 destinations in the region. Recently, the company applied for permits to operate in Paraguay connecting Madrid and Asunción with codeshare flights operated by LATAM Airlines via Sao Paulo.

    Iberia is also strengthening its operations in Bogota, Santiago de Chile and Lima by providing additional frequencies, in addition to recovering and exceeding pre-pandemic levels of seat capacity in these markets. The IAG airline also introduced its new A350next products on the Madrid – Buenos Aires route.
