Fire Alert Triggers Emergency Response for GOL Boeing 737 MAX at Rio de Janeiro's Galeão Airport
It was a 737 MAX 8 that had arrived from Florianópolis.
A GOL Boeing 737 MAX was cooled down by airport firefighters at Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão International Airport after a fire alert was triggered on board.
The incident involved a 737 MAX 8 that had just arrived from Florianópolis and was parked at the gate, although passenger disembarkation had not yet begun, according to AV's partner outlet Aeroin.
An alert was issued indicating a fire in the right main landing gear, prompting an emergency response from airport firefighters. Crews proceeded to cool the area by applying fire retardant around the landing gear and engine.
Several bystanders near the aircraft captured video of the firefighters in action. Despite the scare, no actual fire broke out, the disembarkation proceeded normally, and airport operations at Galeão were not affected.
