    FedEx has requested authorization from the Ecuadorian Civil Aviation authorities to operate flights to and from various points in the Americas. The request encompasses the granting of permission for combined public, international, regular cargo, and mail transport operations.

    The authorization request reaffirms the interest of the American company in flying its Boeing 767-300F aircraft to the Ecuadorian capital from various cities in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

    The airline lists possible destinations including Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Houston, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami in the USA. In Central America and the Caribbean, it includes Mexico City, Mexico; San Jose, Costa Rica; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Guatemala City; and Panama City.

    Meanwhile, in South America, the destinations FedEx outlined as potential connections from Quito are: São Paulo, Viracopos, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Ciudad del Este, Paraguay; Montevideo, Uruguay; Santiago and Iquique, Chile; Lima, Peru; Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia; Caracas, Valencia, and Maracaibo, Venezuela; and Bogota, Medellin, and Cali, Colombia.

    All routes were requested to operate up to seven weekly flights.
