    Last Tuesday (25), EVA Air inaugurated its Taipei (TPE) and Milan (MXP) services, the carrier’s fifth destination in Europe. Currently, the Taiwanese airline is the only carrier offering non-stop flights between Taiwan and Italy.

    Flight BR 95 was operated on a Boeing 777-300ER registered with registration number B-16738, which took off from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 09:58 local time and landed at Malpensa Airport (MXP) at 18:12, after fourteen hours and fourteen minutes.

    «I am thrilled to see today that EVA Air has managed to open its first new operating base in the European market in 25 years, this is a moment of great importance for us, we are very happy that this is happening in Milan, and we are grateful to SEA for the support it has given us,» said Clay Sun, president of EVA Air.

    According to data obtained through the National Entity for Civil Aviation (ENAC), 75,299 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Italy and Taiwan. Eva Air is the fifth Asia-Pacific carrier to offer services at Malpensa Airport (MXP).

    Flight Itinerary

    • Taipei – Milan Malpensa Flight BR 95 TPE 21:50 – MXP 06:15+1 Tuesday and Saturday.
    • Milan Malpensa – Taipei Flight BR 96 MXP 11:00 – TPE 06:15+1 Wednesday and Sunday.

    The route will initially be operated on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft; from November 12 the equipment will be changed to Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 304 seats in two classes (26 Business/278 Economy).

    «With Taipei, the portfolio of routes served is growing, thanks to the EVA Air network also expands the commercial offer and develops the connectivity of the territory with the world in number and quality. I hope that frequencies between Taipei and Milan will soon increase, thanks to the traffic potential and the growth of flows to and from Asia» said Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA Milan Airports.

    EVA Air’s European network consists of: London – Heathrow (LHR), Paris (CDG), Vienna (VIE), Amsterdam (AMS), Milan – Malpensa (MXP) and soon Munich (MUC) from November this year.
