Eurowings, the value carrier of the Lufthansa Group, unveils plans to introduce a new Business Class product called the “Premium BIZZ seat.” The new offering will debut on medium-haul routes starting in November 2025, with the Berlin–Dubai route as the launch market.

The new seats, designed and manufactured by Italian firm Geven, will first be installed on an Airbus A320neo. The Business Class cabin will feature a 2-2 layout, offering a total of eight “Premium BIZZ” seats. This configuration is aimed at providing greater personal space and comfort for passengers on longer flights within the Eurowings network. The airline will continue to offer SMART and BASIC fares in the Economy Class cabin.

Bookings for the new product are already available through the airline’s sales channels. Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings, commented: “With our new Premium BIZ seat, we are offering business travelers and tourists a completely new level of comfort on medium-haul flights. Increased privacy and a significantly enhanced sense of well-being make longer journeys noticeably more pleasant.” He added that with this initiative, “we are setting a new benchmark in our market segment and clearly positioning Eurowings as Europe’s leading airline for value.”

The product will enter an operational evaluation phase with the start of the 2025/26 winter schedule. Its performance will determine whether the cabin configuration will be adopted on future narrow-body aircraft operated by other Lufthansa Group carriers.

These plans are part of a broader strategy to modernize Eurowings’ fleet. The airline expects to begin integrating 40 Boeing 737-8 aircraft starting in 2027, a move that will diversify its short- and medium-haul fleet, which currently consists mostly of Airbus aircraft. This fleet renewal follows Lufthansa Group’s order for the 737 MAX family, marking the model’s return to the German group’s operations.
