Etihad Unveils its Newest Spanish Summer Destination: Palma de Mallorca
Etihad Airways announced a new seasonal route that will connect its hub in Abu Dhabi (AUH) with Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Spain. Operations are set to begin on June 12, 2026, and will run until mid-September, offering the only direct air link between Asia and the popular Balearic Islands.
The airline will operate three weekly flights, providing a new gateway for travelers from its global network to one of the most important tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. The flights are scheduled for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
According to a statement from Etihad Airways, this route becomes the 29th new destination announced by the airline as part of its expansion plan. The connection aims to meet the demand for leisure travel during the European summer season.
The flights will be operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft. These single-aisle jets are equipped with a Business Class cabin featuring fully lie-flat seats in a 1-1 configuration, and an Economy cabin with modern seats, extra legroom, and personal entertainment systems at every seat.
"Palma de Mallorca is the perfect addition to our summer schedule," said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. "From marinas and lively nightlife to secluded coves and historic towns, Mallorca has something for every traveller. We can’t wait to connect our guests from Abu Dhabi and across our network to this Balearic gem – the ultimate summer escape."
The capital of Spain’s Balearic Islands is known for its blend of cosmopolitan style and Mediterranean charm, with attractions such as La Seu Cathedral, the old town, and a wide range of luxury resorts.
