Sérgio Cunha, Director of Technical Services and Product Support at Embraer, said: “Embraer is deeply committed to the fight against Covid-19, providing technical information to clients in different segments, always with the main objective of assisting and improving operations”.

Cunha added: «This technical information will help customers develop procedures to transport a large quantity of Covid-19 vaccines».

According to our partner in Brazil, Aeroin, Embraer carried out tests and simulations to adequately define the characteristics and load requirements in relation to the technical specifications for the transport of vaccines, considering the differences between each aircraft.

The transport of these immunizers requires low temperatures, which are achieved with the use of dry ice.

The documents published by Embraer include instructions for the executive jet models in its portfolio: Phenom 100 and Phenom 100EV, Phenom 300 and Phenom 300E, Legacy 450 and Legacy 500, Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, Legacy 600, Legacy 650 and Legacy 650E, and Lineage 1000 and Lineage 1000E.

In addition to the guidelines on aid in the distribution of vaccines, the Brazilian manufacturer also worked on projects to reduce the risks of transmission of Covid-19 on board.

They advanced in guidelines for the application of UV-C lights for cabin cleaning, as well as long-lasting disinfectants for aircraft interiors, and have approved the use of MicroShield360 ™ and Bacoban®, long-term preventive disinfectant systems that, when applied to airplanes, they continuously inhibit the growth of microorganisms, viruses, and bacteria.

It is estimated that there are currently more than 1,400 Embraer executive jets in operation in more than 70 countries.
