Dnata to deploy 800 new ground support equipment units in 2025 as part of a $110 million expansion and sustainability program. The equipment will be distributed across ten countries, with the largest share going to the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Italy, the United States, and Singapore, in line with the company’s operational growth in those markets.

The new units will be acquired through global framework agreements signed in 2024 with leading industry manufacturers. According to the company, these contracts—worth a total of $210 million—ensure long-term supply of advanced, low-emission machinery.

Clive Sauvé-Hopkins, CEO of dnata Airport Operations, stated that “our continued and substantial investment in a modern fleet reflects both the scale of our expansion and our ambition to lead the industry in operational excellence and sustainability.” He added that the company is accelerating the adoption of zero- or low-emission technologies, depending on the infrastructure available at each location.

Dnata’s strategy focuses on gradually replacing diesel engines with electric, hybrid, or hydrogen-powered alternatives, tailored to the specific requirements of each operation.

According to the company, more than 40% of its fleet in key markets such as Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom is already electric. Additionally, dnata has transitioned its non-electric fleet in Dubai to biodiesel, part of its effort to reduce carbon emissions without compromising efficiency at one of the world’s major logistics hubs.

Operational efficiency is also central to dnata’s strategy. The company uses fuel consumption monitoring systems, conducts logistical mapping exercises to reduce travel distances, and optimizes shift schedules and parking spaces to minimize unnecessary fuel use.

Some of the new equipment will be showcased at dnata’s stand during the Airport Show, taking place from May 6 to 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
