Delta announces new nonstop flights from Seattle to Barcelona and Rome
The airline announces new flights to Spain and Italy from Seattle in 2026, enhancing its premium offering with a new exclusive VIP lounge at its West Coast hub.
Delta Air Lines is expanding its international presence from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) with the launch of two new transatlantic routes. Starting in May 2026, the airline will offer nonstop service from Seattle to Barcelona (BCN) and Rome-Fiumicino (FCO) for the first time.
According to the official announcement, flights to Rome will begin on May 6, 2026, followed by Barcelona on May 7, 2026. Both routes will be operated using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, featuring Delta One, Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating options.
These additions expand Delta’s network to key European destinations. The airline currently operates flights to Barcelona and Rome from New York-JFK, Atlanta, and Boston, as well as from Detroit and Minneapolis/St. Paul for Rome. With these new services, Delta strengthens its hub in Seattle, where it has launched 28 new routes in the past decade, now offering nearly 180 daily flights to more than 60 destinations worldwide.

Delta’s expansion in the air is matched by investments on the ground. The airline will open its fourth Delta One Lounge at SEA, joining existing locations in New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), and Boston (BOS). This exclusive space will offer Delta One passengers private check-in, expedited baggage handling, and fast-track security access.
The new lounge, located on the upper level of the terminal, will accommodate 149 indoor guests and offer 72 additional seats on an outdoor terrace with views of Mount Rainier.

“These sophisticated yet comfortable spaces reflect Delta’s commitment to delivering experiences that customers can enjoy at every stage of their journey,” said Claude Roussel, Vice President of Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience. He added that the lounges are designed to meet rising demand for luxury travel experiences that Delta customers already know and expect.

Delta’s investment in Seattle also includes priority access to 18 gates across Terminals A and B, streamlining the boarding process.
Delta Air Lines President Glen Hauenstein emphasized the airline’s deep roots in Seattle, saying: “Our commitment to Seattle runs deep, from our ground team to our global ambitions in the sky. With these new international routes and the opening of our Delta One Lounge, we’re investing in what matters most to our customers—exceptional, premium experiences—and reinforcing our position as Seattle’s leading global airline.”
