Next November 20, Cubana de Aviación will relaunch its direct connection between Havana (HAV) and Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE) in view of the reopening of the borders as ordered by the island on November 15. The state-owned company announced that as of December 27, 2021, it will once again offer a weekly non-stop flight between Cayo Coco (CCC) and the Argentine capital.

Argentina has been an essential connection for Cubana de Aviación, mainly because of the flow of tourists it brings to the island. In addition, over several decades the Cuban community in Argentina has grown strongly, making the Cuban airline’s flights crucial at both ends of the link.

Cayo Coco is a popular tourist hub that has maintained a direct link with Argentina for three decades. In 2019, Cubana de Aviación carried 13,560 passengers between Buenos Aires and Cuba, of which 8,530 ended in Cayo Coco and the rest continued to Havana (HAV).

The airline confirmed to Cuban media that in November travel agencies will start selling its flights to Cayo Coco, while the airline will keep marketing from its website to Havana.
