Avianca emphasized that purchasing tickets through unauthorized channels may result in their invalidation and even lead to legal consequences for users involved in fraudulent transactions.

With the Christmas Mission operation, the Colombian aviation sector aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations during one of the most critical seasons of the year. Between November 2024 and January 2025, a significant increase in passenger traffic is expected on both domestic and international routes.

In a recent meeting, the Civil Aviation Authority and airlines highlighted the implementation of infrastructure improvements, including work at airports such as El Dorado, San Andrés, and Cúcuta, as well as the coordination of slots and air traffic services.

The increased confidence in air transport is reflected in the growth of passenger traffic. During the October 2024 school break, more than 3.2 million people traveled through Colombian airports, marking a 13% increase compared to the same period last year. This trend is expected to continue during the Christmas season, with destinations such as Cartagena, Medellín, and San Andrés leading national preferences.
