Transavia will celebrate its 60th anniversary by painting an Airbus A321neo in a retro livery, evoking the corporate image the airline displayed in its early days.

The Dutch airline was founded on October 21, 1965, under the name Transavia Holland BV, as recorded in the registry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haarlem and its surroundings. The company, now part of the Air France-KLM Group, has maintained throughout its history an extensive network of destinations covering all of Europe and parts of Africa.

    Retro livery

For the summer of 2025, Transavia will receive a new Airbus A321neo with a retro livery as a tribute to its rich history. This livery is inspired by the brand created by Dutch designer Thijs Postma in 1966, who crafted the iconic green corporate image featuring a large black "T" visible on the fuselage and tail.

It was Transavia's first recognizable livery, used on aircraft such as the Airbus A300 and the Sud Aviation Caravelle, and it may also be applied to the new Airbus A321neo. Additionally, the aircraft will feature the new Airspace cabin, contrasting the typical paint scheme of a 1970s airline with the modernity of Airbus' latest equipment.

Transavia CEO Marcel de Nooijer stated, "Celebrating our 60th anniversary is a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together. The arrival of a new Airbus with a retro design is our way of proudly looking back to remember what has brought us here and where we stand now, while also looking toward a quieter future thanks to the renewal of our fleet."
