British Airways back to Australia after border reopening

British Airways will resume the London-Sydney route after a two-year pause due to the restrictive measures imposed by Australia as a consequence of the pandemic.
The company’s decision comes days after the Australian government’s announcement of the reopening of borders for fully vaccinated travelers as of February 21.
According to information obtained from scheduling systems, the first flight will take off from Heathrow on March 27 at 21:25, arriving in Sydney on March 29 at 18:10. Initially scheduled to operate five times a week, it will move to daily flying in April.
«We can’t wait to welcome our customers on board our Sydney to London flights and will be honored to play our part in reuniting families and friends with their loved ones after such a long time apart,» Noella Ferns, British Airways’ Head of Asia Pacific sales told World of Aviation.
«The safety of our customers and colleagues has always been at the heart of everything we do. We know that some customers have not flown for a long time. We can assure them that we have a number of COVID-19 measures in place to provide them with a stress-free and hassle-free journey,» she concluded.
