This service will have a technical stop in Istanbul (IST) in the westbound direction, the route between Lester Pearson Airport (YYZ) and Dhaka (DAC) will be non-stop. The carrier previously held discussions with British airline entities to operate this route via Manchester (MAN) with fifth-freedom rights.

According to Statistics Canada, in 2020 about 100,000 Canadians are of Bangladeshi origin, with the largest diaspora located in the city of Toronto.

    Flight Itinerary

    • Dhaka – Istanbul Flight BG 305 DAC 03:00 – IST 09:00 (technical stopover)
    • Istanbul – Toronto Flight BG 305 IST 10:00 – YYZ 13:55 Wednesday and Sunday.
    • Toronto – Dhaka Flight BG 306 YYZ 19:30 – DAC 21:30+1 Wednesday.

Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 298 seats in three classes (30 Business/21 Premium Economy/247 Economy). Promotional fares start at USD 972 and from July 20 to August 20 the airline will offer discounts of up to 15% on ticket purchases.

According to an analysis by anna.aero, Toronto is the second most underserved North American market in Dhaka (DAC), behind only New York, in 2019 between the Bangladeshi capital and Canada’s main metropolis flew 46,318 passengers indirectly and paying an average fare of USD 691.

Despite New York being the largest underserved market, the company is unable to start services to this nation due to Bangladesh’s FAA Category 2 rating. Said category prevents any airline from the Asian country from flying regularly to the United States.

Biman continues to expand its international network to major destinations with higher VFR traffic (friends and/or family visiting) and to countries where they have relaxed their sanitary restrictions.
