    Babcock Spain has unveiled its new Delivery Center located at the company’s Maintenance Center of Excellence in Albacete. This space is designed with the aim of providing a VIP experience to customers during the delivery of their aircraft. It counts with an area of 750 square meters. It can accommodate up to two helicopters simultaneously, making it a unique place to respond to the current needs of its customers.

    «For Babcock Spain, the creation of this Delivery Center is another step in the company’s strategy to provide customers not only with the best repair and maintenance service but also with an experience that makes them feel at home during their visit,» says Jacobo Landeira, Director of Business Development for Defense & UAVs at Babcock Spain.

    The new space has all the amenities to make the delivery process of an aircraft, which can take several days, a satisfactory experience. This will allow the customer to focus all his attention on the supervision of the work performed.

    A large and modern Maintenance Center

    The Maintenance Center of Excellence in Albacete has 14 bays to maintain 14 helicopters consecutively. More than 85 of them are highly qualified maintenance technicians and 25 people provide support in different technical and administrative areas.

    The center has different auxiliary workshops. For instance: sheet metal, blades, composite (composite structures), avionics, or survival, which helps to perform virtually all maintenance and repair tasks without relying on third parties to 31 different helicopter models.

    In addition, the Albacete Maintenance Center has two simulators. One of them for the continuous training of pilots and the other one for medical personnel on duty in the different Autonomous Communities throughout the country.

    Collaboration with the Slovenian Air Force SAF

    Last February, Babcock Spain inaugurated the Delivery Center. The launch was done with the delivery to the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF) of an helicopter maintained at its facilities and which has returned to Slovenia piloted by two SAF pilots, after commissioning and subsequent flight. This delivery is part of a contract for the maintenance of four helicopters, entrusted to Babcock Spain by the Slovenian Armed Forces.

    Babcock Spain has been collaborating for two years with the Slovenian Armed Forces SAF (Slovenian Armed Forces) through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). This collaboration is based on a 3-year framework contract. It covers the repair and maintenance of helicopters operating under military regulations and registered in the National Military Aircraft Register.

    The services provided by Babcock Spain in this framework include several activities. For example, helicopter airframe inspection, associated engine inspection, component overhaul, Service Bulletin (SB) implementation, AD airworthiness directive (EASA, FAA, NMAA) implementation, OTL parts replacement, avionics testing, ground, and flight testing. On top of this, it could also cover other services on demand, such as painting and aircraft transportation.
