Avion Express Brasil, a subsidiary of Avion Express and part of Avia Solutions Group, has obtained its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). With this approval, the company becomes the first dedicated ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) operator in Brazil, strengthening its position in the Latin American market.

According to the company, commercial operations are set to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with an initial fleet of up to 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft. Avion Express Brasil also plans to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft by 2027-2028 to meet the increasing demand for capacity solutions in the region.

    Strategic Expansion in Latin America

Avion Express has identified Latin America as a key market for its expansion. The company has already established a long-term partnership in Mexico and last year started operations in Argentina, where it placed four aircraft to Flybondi, the country's second largest airline. “Brazil, one of the largest aviation markets in the region, represents a natural and strategic next step in our expansion,” said Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express.

“The Avion Express Brasil AOC is a significant step forward for ACMI solutions, as it opens up a new market and introduces innovative capacity management solutions for airlines. We are grateful to ANAC for recognizing the value of this expansion and supporting it. With the aviation industry experiencing cyclical demand shifts, our ACMI solutions will provide Brazilian airlines with the flexibility they need to optimize their operations,” Kajokas added.

    Addressing Seasonal Demand Challenges

The ACMI business model helps airlines manage seasonal fluctuations and operational challenges. “ACMI solutions are strategically designed to address peak travel season demands, allowing airlines to add or remove aircraft from their fleets as needed, providing the flexibility to adapt to market fluctuations,” explained Esteban Jauregui Lorda, CEO of Avion Express Brasil.

Jauregui also highlighted Brazil’s growing tourism and aviation sectors in 2025, emphasizing that Avia Solutions Group’s investment will allow Avion Express Brasil to provide "reliable and cost-effective capacity solutions to help airlines manage both peak demand and market shifts."
